Adult Ministries is to focus on developing men and women of like faith to connect, grow, and transform spiritually, mentally, and physically. Our goal is to help equip adults to live abundant lives and to move forward in their Christian development.
Singles Ministry – Is a source of fellowship and support for single adults looking to build a healthy relationship with God. This ministry will help single adults learn, grow and follow God’s plan for their lives. Meetings are held the Friday after the 1st Sunday @ 7:00 P.M.
Couples Ministry – Provides an approach where couples can come together and discover how to mature, nourish and develop their relationship within the will of Christ. This ministry is designed to help relationships become more structured and meaningful with their spouse or significant other. Meetings are held the Friday after the 2nd Sunday @ 7:00 PM.
Women Ministry (Precious Monday) – Provides hope for women through biblical teachings by way of sisterly love, kindness, encouragement and related experiences. Meetings are held the Monday after the 1st Sunday @ 7:00 P.M
Men Ministry (Iron Sharpens Iron) - Provides a place for all men to come together and create healthy habits to walk closer with Christ. This ministry helps men to become dedicated to their hearts, mind, family, church and community. Meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month @ 8:00 A.M.
Usher Ministry – Provides a friendly atmosphere to all members and guest. The role of this ministry is to direct, seat and control the flow of traffic while maintaining discipline and order. This ministry is for adults ages 18 and up. All adult ushers are asked to volunteer on 1st, 2nd, 4th, & 5th Sundays. The ministry meets quarterly to discuss and plan events.
Greeter Ministry – Provides a welcoming aroma to all members and guest alike. The role of this ministry is to provide assistance on locating the Santuary, Childrens Church and etc… Adult Volunteers will greet on the Sunday of their choice.
Music Ministry – Provides praise and worship in a spirit of excellence under God’s divine anointing. This ministry helps lead others through song by helping to compel the lost to receive salvation and to help add strength and encouragement to those who are saved.
Adult Choir – Ages 18 & up. Sings the 1st, 2nd , & 4th Sundays of the Month. Rehearsals are scheduled the Tuesday night before the 1st & 2nd Sunday @ 8:15PM.
Women’s Chorus – Ages 18 & up. Sings the 5th Sunday of the month. Rehearsals are scheduled on the Tuesday before the 5th Sunday.
Men’s Chorus – Ages 18 & up. Sings the 4th Sunday of the Month. Rehearsals are scheduled on the Wednesday before the 4th Sunday.
Youth/Children Ministries is to focus on helping youth strive to build stronger relationships with Christ, other youth, adults and family. This ministry is designed to build character, integrity and confidence among teens and their peers.
Teen Bible Study (“Let’s Talk About It”) - Focus on teen issue and topics in an open forum setting. Teens are taught on how to handle issues relating to family, school and their community from a Biblical standpoint. Meeting are held every Tuesday night @ 7:15 P.M.
Youth/Children Praise Dancers –This group ministers through dance in the form of worshipping and praising God. These dancers are ministering to spread the Gospel of Jesus by presenting their bodies as a living sacrifice. Contact the Dance Ministry for rehearsal and performance schedules. For ages 4-8, Ages 9-12, and Ages 13-18.
Drama Ministry – is to promote the gospel through visual art of dramatic production cast by members of Silverlake Church. Please contact the church for additional information on meetings and plays.
Youth Choir & Prasie Team - Focus on lifting up the name of Jesus through song. This ministry is to help inspire praise and worship in a spirit of excellence in ministering Gods divine anointing and agape love. Rehearsals are the Tuesday after the 1st Sunday & Saturday after the 2nd Sunday. For ages 11-18.
Childrens Choir – Focus on giving God praise and worship through song. Rehearsals are scheduled on the Tuesday after the 2nd Sunday before childrens bible teachings on Tuesday night. For ages 3-10.
Youth Ushers/Greeters - To help assist with seating arrangements and making members and guest feel welcome during their attendance here at Silverlake. Meetings are schedule upon request, but attendance is required for Youth on 3rd Sunday’s of the month. Please call the church for additional info.
Youth/Children Sunday School – Helps children and teens study topics that are interesting and enriching for spiritual development. Classes meet every Sunday Morning @ 9:30 A.M. Ages range from Pre-K, Children and Teens.
CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRIES
CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRIES – provides comfort, care and love for all members and visiting friends. These ministries are to assist the needs of those who are in transition, lost or needing an added boost in their Christian development.
Evangelism Ministry – The focus of this ministry is to equip, train and organize the lay members to go out and share with family, neighbors and their community
who Jesus Christ is. Meetings are held on the Wednesday after the 2nd Sunday @ 7:00 P.M.
TLC Healthcare Ministry - Is a ministry compromised of healthcare providers that are dedicated to serving the congregation in times of a health crisis. This ministry promotes health education and preventive care through training. Meetings are held on the Wednesday after the 2nd Sunday @ 7:00 P.M.
Counseling Ministry – Helps to provide Biblical counseling to help overcome problems that Christians face. This ministry answers problems found in the Word of God to help meet mental and spiritual needs to continue walking with Christ. Scheduled appointments are required.
New Members Ministry - Provides the vision, strategies, principles and core values of all new members of Silverlake Church. It also explains the plan of salvation and leads new members to Christ. Classes are held 3rd & 4th Sunday @ 9:30 A.M.
Special Needs Ministry – Supports special needs youth and individuals in all aspects of spiritual growth by learning scripture, worship and fellowship with other individuals facing special attention. This ministry meets on the Wednesday after the 1st Sunday @ 7:15 P.M.
Hospitality Ministry – Provides food services to church family, friends, and visitors during special events. This ministry conducts itself according to the following scripture. I Peter 4:9, “offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
Parking Lot Ministry – Provides adequate, safe, and easily accessible parking for those worshipping during Sunday service. Meetings will be announced at a later date.
Prison Ministry – Provides bible-based teachings of Silverlake Church to men who are incarcerated. Our goal is to win the lost, heal the sick, and bring deliverance to people that are bound by unpleasant circumstances. Meetings are held on the Friday after the 1st Sunday of each month @ 7:00PM.
Job Support Ministry – Assist fellow Christians in career guidance through job postings, job orders, job fairs and encouragement in becoming gainfully employed. This ministry consist of members who work with Job Placement or Human Resource Departments. Meetings are held the Wednesday after the 1st Sunday @ 7:00PM.
A.R.I.S.E Ministry (Drug & Alcohol Recovery) - Provides support and assistance to those who are experiencing or have experienced a life transition of drug and alcohol addiction. Meetings are held on the Friday after the 1st and 2nd Sunday @ 7:00 7PM.
Aids Ministry – Focus on awareness and support by providing unconditional love to those living with HIV/AIDS. This ministry provides education, preventive measures and supportive services to all whom are affected by this illness.
Rapha Ministry - Is dedicated to the well being of fellow members of Silverlake. Their mission is to accelerate healing through prayer and encouragement by way of get well cards, visitation, and communion. Call the office for details and meeting times.
Watchman Prayer Ministry – Prays daily to empower the vision that God has given Silverlake Church. This ministry provides intercessory prayer to help fulfill the needs of this church. Meetings are held every Tuesday in the sanctuary @ 6:45 P.M.
